A Call for Participation for the Pax Romana ICMICA - Human Rights Internship Program

61st UN Commission Human Rights (March 7 - April 23, 2005)

Pax Romana-ICMICA will organize its annual Human Rights Internship Program which will take place in Geneva from March 7 to April 23, 2005 in connection to United Nations Commission on Human Rights (March 14 - April 22). We would like to make a call for nomination for participation. This time we are expecting to have 10 participants. Each regional coordination is welcome to make a nomination of two participants. IMCS and IYCS are also welcomed to make nomination of one participant for each. A committee of selection is formed to select the participants.

Here is the profile of the candidates we would like to have for the Internship Program:

  1. 1. Human Rights defenders or activists especially the members of IMICA-Pax Romana Federations.
  2. 2. Human Rights activists from IMCS-Pax Romana, International Young Catholic Students (IYCS), Justice and Peace Commissions, International Catholic Organizations or other Church related groups.
  3. 3. Young Lawyers, students and researchers on human rights, international laws and international relation.
  4. 4. Victims or defenders of human rights abuses and violation.
  5. 5. Candidates who are interested in the issue of human rights

Each nomination should be accompanied with:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Letter of Motivation
  • Letter of Recommendation
  • Completed Application Form (see in the attachment)

These documents should be competed and send by email to Pax Romana Secretariat at: hr@paxromana.int.ch or budi@paxromana.int.ch before the 7 of February 2005, to give us enough time to for the selection and visa matters.

Subsidy for the participation is provided on request and according to the availability of the budget. The committee of selection will make the final decision according to criteria.
