The hot summer in Europe has gone finally and we are back to normal work. I am happy to bring some interesting news to you from Luxembourg where the International Council and European Conference took place. Big thanks and congratultions to ALUC who organized the conference successfully and to KIK who will organize our Plenary Assembly in Warsaw 2004! Luxembourg is indeed small and beautiful country and it will even more interesting in this Autumn.

International Council 2003
The 90th International Council meeting was held as scheduled in Luxembourg from August 31 to September 3, 2003. The Council meeting, originally scheduled in July in West Africa, was postponed due to logistical reasons, and it coincided with the European Conference that took place in Luxembourg from Sept. 3 to 6, 2004. It was the last Council meeting before the Plenary Assembly 2004 and therefore some important decisions were made regarding the preparations for the Assembly.
Some key decisions, among many others, are as follows;

- Theme : Poverty and Injustice - Challenges to Ethics and Cultures : Responsibility of Christian Professionals

Luxembourg European Conference 2003
European Conference was held at the Jean Monnet Building, European Union institution in Luxembourg from Sept 3 to 6, 2003. The Conference attended by more than 100 participants from about 20 countries addressed the issue of ethical and constitutional challenges to the European Project. It was locally hosted by ALUC (Association Luxembourgeoise des Universitaires Catholicques), ICMICA Federation in Luxembourg. Human Rights Internship Program
The annual Human Rights Internship Program was held from July 15 to Aug. 15 in Geneva in conjunction with the 55th UN Sub-Commission on Human Rights. About 20 interns have participated throughout the 4 week program, and five oral interventions were made. See photos and oral interventions at the website - www.paxromana.org
International Committee Meeting of IMCS/IYCS
The third International Committee Meeting of IMCS (International Movement of Catholic Students) and IYCS (International Young Catholic Students) was held in Barcelona from August 16 to 28, 2003. The session was focussed on the issue of promotion of integral education with the theme Student Ready for Change: A Global Solidarity for an Integral Education through A Spirituality of Action. The following leadership was elected during the statutory session.
Mr Kevin Ahern from USA and Joseph Zobel Behalal Mboy II from Cameroun were elected for IMCS International Team while Mr Manoj Mathew from India and Margareta Brosnan for IYCS International Team.
