Africa-Basque Country Exchange Porgramme

After the events of the 60th Anniversary of Pax Romana ICMICA/MIIC (May, 19th-23rd 2007), Pax Romana organized the 1st edition of a new programme of exchange and visits with African emerging leaders, including our President Jean Lokenga, about the different levels of govenance in Europe.

From May, 28th to June, 6th, 7 African leaders (5 of them members of Pax Romana), had the opportunity to know directly the European Institutions in Brussels, the Central Institutions of Spain in Madrid and the Autonomous, "Foral"-Provincial and "Municipal"-Local Institutions in the Basque Country.

This programme, initially known as "Africa - Basque Country Exchange Programme on Descentralized Governance and Self-Government Experiences", is promoted by Pax Romana ICMICA/MIIC and is supported by the Basque Government (Direction of Foreign Relations). The 1st edition was very succesful.

Yesterday, June, 6th, an interesting press report about it was published in "El Correo" newspaper and, please, find the links to it:
