This newsletter (See attachment) was proposed at the European Liaison Committee (ELC) meeting in Venice to provide European federations with a better idea of the activities of Pax Romana ICMICA, both internationally and within Europe
New President of Pax Romana ICMICA/MIIC
Jean Nsonjiba Lokenga, a Congolese working in Kampala (Uganda), has been appointed President of Pax Romana ICMICA/MIIC until the next Plenary Assembly in 2008. Jean Lokenga is the Vice-President of Pax Romana ICMICA/MIIC for Africa and professionally he works for Amnesty International, as Human Rights Defenders Co-ordinator of the Africa Program.
After the passing of the President Patricio Rodé last November 17th, 2005, the post of President was vacant. According to Pax Romana ICMICA/MIIC Statutes "if a vacancy occurs in the position of President between Plenary Assemblies, the Council shall appoint one of the Vice-Presidents to act as President until the next Assembly". Jean Lokenga has been appointed by the 14 voting members of the Council in a poll which took place in the last days. The poll results were as follows: 13 votes in favour and 1 abstention.

Jean Nsonjiba Lokenga, congolés que trabaja en Kampala (Uganda), ha sido nombrado Presidente de Pax Romana ICMICA/MIIC hasta la próxima Asamblea Plenaria de 2008. Jean Lokenga es Vicepresidente de Pax Romana ICMICA/MIIC para África y profesionalmente trabaja para Amnistía Internacional como Coordinador para África del programa de Defensores de Derechos Humanos.

Jean Nsonjiba Lokenga, un Congolais travails à Kampala (Ouganda), est nommé comme le président de Pax Romana ICMICA/MIIC jusqu'à la prochaine Assemblé Plénière en 2008. Jean Lokenga est le vice président de Pax Romana ICMICA/MIIC pour l'Afrique et il travails en plein temps avec l'Amnesty International en tant que Coordinateur de Défenseur de Droits de l'homme en Afrique.
Poverty and Injustice as Challenges to Ethics and Cultures - Responsibility of Christian Professionals
"Poverty and Injustice as Challenges to Ethics and Cultures - Responsibility of Christian Professionals" was the theme of the study session of the 29th Plenary Assembly of ICMICA/MIIC from 24 to 26 July 2004 in Warsaw, Poland. About 130 participants from all the continents gathered at the Assembly. The Assembly was hosted by the Klub Inteligencji Katolickiej(KIK), the ICMICA-affiliated Federation in Poland.
